Yeah Im an old Garand owner myself, and Im a WWII reenactor, and on a battlefield in the open outdoors, the clip sound just isnt head more than just a few feet away on soft ground like dirt, sand, mud, leaves ect.Įven at extreme close range, the ping sound is just muniscule, let alone on a battlefield! its just a non issue, not as epic or romantic as Hollywood or games like these make it fictionally out to be, but its reality, and in reality, the sound on a typical battlefield served no purpuse other than to let that GI know when he was out and not to bother lining up another shot. Now regarding the ping trick, it was used very early on in the war a few times.

The mid-clip reload annimation on the Garand isnt right at all, you need to pull the bolt back and hold it in place, then press the clip release, in the game all you do is pull the bolt back and the clip pops out, IRL if you did this all that would happen is an unfired round would eject and of course the bolt would not stay locked open like that.also the sound is wrong, ejecting a partially fired clip does NOT make a pinging sound when it ejects, it makes a "clank" sound, the ping is only produced when the clip is empty, allowing the sound to reverberate off the clip walls ( like ringing a bell, its hollow and will make a ding sound when knocked on, in this case, sliding out of the magazine walls on-ejection) but with rounds still in the clip, the ping sound cannot be produced when ejectedĪlso the Ping in general, needs to be toned down a few notches, its WAY over exaggerated, I can hear them going off 100 feet away in game! IRL its very hard to hear more than about 30 feet away, so if the devs can just tone the sound level down a bit, and then fix that poorly designed mid-clip ejection and sound annimation, itd be greatly appreciated and do the Garand justice
